Teacher Preparation Programs at National-Louis University
NLU teacher preparation programs are specifically designed to provide teachers with a thorough understanding of how to integrate technology into classroom instruction. Participating students will be working in nearby technology-rich schools and taught by National-Louis University faculty and master teachers in partnering school districts. Additionally, students will have access to a host of online resource libraries, web sites, videoconferencing, and chat rooms to enhance the learning experience. Our teacher preparation programs can enhance most teaching degrees.
A federal grant to National-Louis University has given us the opportunity to significantly enhance the technology component of our Masters of Teachers Education (MAT) program. We are achieving this through several activities. Firstly, we are offering a newly redesigned MAT program that directly integrates technology into its course offerings and activities. This two year program incorporates technology, and considerations of its classroom impact, into the curriculum to an unprecedented extent. Secondly, we are offering specialized training to National-Louis faculty in the latest techniques and technologies available for the K-12 classroom. Finally, through technology, we are providing a direct and immediate electronic linkage between our faculty and the students in this program to enhance the sharing of knowledge and experience between them.
We look forward to assisting you…whether you are a student or a faculty member in "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to use Technology."
